Glow Bright photoluminescent emergency lights use the power of high performance photoluminescent pigments to provide up to 12 hours of soft green light (similar to moonlight), and a very minimum of 90 minutes bright enough to enable building occupants to navigate around obstacles and make their way to safety when the lights go out unexpectedly.
Photoluminescent emergency lights are fail-safe - unlike backup generators or battery backup systems that have a habit of failing when called upon.

If the light fixture is on and working before the power goes out, our photoluminescent emergency lights will shine and perform their intended task flawlessly - every time year after year for up to 25 years.
Installation is simple – just open the diffuser of your fluorescent fixture and place the photoluminescent emergency lights in close proximity to the bulb - the brighter the light the better they glow.
Strong magnets hold them in place.

We recommend that four (4) Glow Bright photoluminescent emergency lights be installed per 100 sq ft of floor space for maximum performance.
Individual installations my require fewer or additional light bars to be installed based on interior surface reflectivity, furniture or equipment color and ceiling height.
Self illuminating PL products absorb and store ambient light energy and then emit stored energy as visible light over an extended period of time.

Safe Glow photoluminescent emergency lights are not intended as a replacement to code compliant electrical or battery backed emergency light systems, but rather as a fail-safe complement to these systems.
They are well suited for use in individual offices, conference rooms, restrooms, corridors, stairwells, and storage or file rooms - any interior area where loss of light will impact life-safety.

Q. Will the installation of PL EXIT signs provide an ongoing cost saving to building
owners and stakeholders?
A. YES! PL EXIT signs will provide costs savings immediately and into the future
Q. What is required to charge the PL EXIT sign?
A. 100 Lux on the face of the signs from a minimum 4,000K cool white light
(standard commercial lighting).
Q. Can I use any Photoluminescent sign?
A. Only approved PL EXIT signs tested to ASTM E2073-10 using NCC2014 E4.8 Specification may be used. For more information refer to Australian Building Codes Board website http://www.abcb.gov.au/ .
Q. Will an additional light be required at every sign?
A. No, as in the majority of cases the general lighting will be sufficient to provide the required 100 lux. However, in the small percentage of areas which may not achieve 100 lux, a low cost LED light can be installed, utilising the same power source as the existing EXIT light.
Also in a small percentage of cases, where an EXIT sign is acting as an emergency light, a new emergency light may be required as determined by the RBS (Registered Building Surveyor).
Q. Will legislated testing be required?
A. No, as PL EXIT signs are free from parts such as globes, batteries and complex circuitry that can and do breakdown, hence are low maintenance. A general check that the signs are present, clean, free from vandalism and that the light source hasn't changed is all that is required.
Q. Will smoke affect the operation of the PL EXIT sign?
A. In a general sense PL EXIT signs emit a yellow green light, which is better than white light for visibility in smoke environments, furthermore, smoke control systems required by clause 6.6 of AS2293.1 do not apply to PL EXIT signs.
